The photo that you see above is my grandmother, Iva Rose and the first picture of my mom when she was a mere five days old.

This photo is my Grandfather and my mom doing one of their most favorite pastimes - raking for clams on Cape Cod. This photo was taken in the early 1940's, not long after Iva's death from breast cancer.
This is a photo of Iva Rose at about the age of 7 years old. She is pictured here with either her school classmates or with her Sunday school class. It is amazing how much the world has changed in the last 100 years!
This gentleman is my great-great-great grandfather, and a more colorful character you will never find. Among his many trades, he served on the whaling vessels during the 1800's and was later the keeper of the Old Minot lighthouse on Cape Cod. He survived two devastating wars, fighting in the civil war and also survived the deadly influenza pandemic of 1918, which took nearly 1/3 of the planet's population. He lived to the ripe old age of 100, during a time when the average life expectancy was about half his age. My mom was born on his 100th birthday in 1926!
