95 Pages. This is a lovely little book from the turn of the century with instructions for costuming dolls. The book was written for a young girl, but the skill level is much higher than what you would see today. There are several lovely costumes such as a simple infant's outfit to elaborate garments such as Red Riding Hood, a Japanese Kimono, Pierrot, and every day dress. The instructions and patterns are included. Our Great Grandmothers were far more skilled in the needle arts than we are today! This lovely little book written back at the turn of the century for a highly skilled child to make clothing for her dolls. 108 pages. One of the earliest pattern books from the Lion brand company that I have ever seen, this book contains an excellent assortment of patterns for the entire family. The beginning of the book contains a section of very handy and well illustrated instructions on how to do the stitches used in the book. There are many beautiful afghans and blankets for a baby as well as several sacques and kimonos to keep your wee little one warm. Also there are several sweaters for a child, a baby's cape with hood, several infant's bonnets, leggings, mittens and bootees. 18 Pages. Wallachian Embroidery is a stunning technique that had its origins in the southeastern area of the European continent in what is now modern day Romania. This area is better known for its most notorious leader Vlad Țepeș, who was the inspiration for the 19th century novel Dracula.
