These are what women wore before the invention of the bra. This book contains lovely designs for twelve crocheted designs, some simple, some a bit more fancy. There are also designs for a nightgown yoke, a close fitting "vest" or undershirt. A lovely edition! If you are looking for a starter book to make yokes from this period, I recommend this book - the patterns are lovely and not too complex.

The work is in crochet, filet crochet and tatting and the items include a combinations suit and an evening gown comisole. The yokes in this book are stunning! Although this kind of work is not recommended for the novice, there is a world of education to be found here. Our Grandmothers were masters with hook, needle and shuttle - books such as this will bring them back to teach us how they learned their art. A beautiful collection!

This is simple work to recreate, and if you can crochet, you can make these lovely designs. The patterns includ a lovely lace collar, a rooster, birds, church laces plus much more. Filet Crochet is becoming more popular today, and lovely charts such as these are often difficult to find. In addition to there there are boudoir accessories such as a dresser cover, a night dress case and a pillow case. There is also a fabulous Italian Crochet center piece, a bridge set with napkins, twelve assorted gift items, including infants, a shampoo jacket and a lovely silk crocheted purse. Collingbourne's books are often loaded with a huge variety of projects - and this book is no exception. There is everything from a silk purse to a shampoo jacket for ladies. There are yokes and doilies, towels and gift items. There are a few items that have embroidered accents. A wonderful book, very typical of what you will find in most of the Virginia Snow series!
33 Pages. This book is a treasure trove of very cool projects. There are many small projects in this edtion that would be great as take-along projects on a road trip or while commuting. The work is in Crochet and Tatting. Some examples of the projects are a lamp shade (seen on cover), many yokes for ladies nightgowns and lingerie, doilies, wire hanger covers, several purses and even a cover for a fern jar. An amazing assortment of Edwardian Era crocheted items. There are lots of things you never see in this edition, such as purses, lampshades, fan holder, coat hanger cover, and linens. There are alos numerous yokes, boudoir caps and lingerie items. This collection is not for the novice crocheter or tatter, but it is a wonderful assortment, nontheless. Lots of fun here!
31 Pages. A fabulous book with patterns using Embroidery, Tatting and Crochet. In crochet, there are some lovely obscure edgings, a silk taffe bag, a Jabot and collar chich look to be Irish Crochet, edgings for guest towels, a filet crochet corset cover, many yokes for gowns and lingerie, a sweater, a pillow and scarf for the boudoir, boudoir cap, doilies, infant's items and much more! I'm not sure why they didn't create a new number for this edition - there is very little similarity to the earlier 1916 edition of this number. Many of the patterns are new and unique to this book. There are a huge amount of projects - everything from doilies to lampshades, to boudoir caps and finger purses. You will certainly never be bored! There is much more work in Crochet than anything else, but in tatting there are some lovely edgings and an insert for a baby's bonnet that is quite lovely. This book is filled with a wealth of designs!

Collingbourne is famous for having tons and tons of projects in their books, and this edition is no exception. I'm not sure exactly how many there are, my guess would be over 100 of them. While they are not recommended for the novice needleworker, there is definitely something to be learned from every page.

The book claims these designs were left to Virginia Snow by her Grandmother, so many of the patterns are from pre Civil War and even earlier. There are some very lovely designs that you don't often see. If you are a creator of both modern and vintage designs, one of the more important books to have in your arsenal is a good book of edgings - this book has all of the criteria you are looking for! These edgings are ancient - possibly even hundreds of years old. These are patterns passed from grandmother to granddaughter before the convienent access of patterns books. The patterns are quite lovely!

There are pearl necklaces and beaded chains, four knitted and beaded purses - and two crocheted beaded purses - including a miser's bag. In addition to this, there are also patterns for a tasseled shade cord and a beautiful lamp shade that are worked in crochet only. This fabulous book is filled with many lovely designs! There are many beaded purses worked in both knitting and crochet. In addition to this there are necklaces, belts, cords and even some exquisite lamp shades. A wonderful and rare edition!
